Mr. Fields, my name is Jim and My family has a long history with Ford. we have owned many of them. Also my Father in Law worked for Ford Motor Co. for 36 years and retired from there. we currently own a 2016 Ford Focus and my Son just bought his first brand new car after his 1999 Ford Escort died. Naturally we encouraged him to buy a new Ford, and he purchased a 2016 Ford Fiesta in November, it has a little over 2000 miles on it now.
Last Thursday I was driving his Fiesta and the car started shaking like a wheel was out of balance. I started to pull over towards the curb and then it was like something snapped, and the car went right for the curb. After it bounced off the curb I saw the tire rolling down the street. When I retrieved the tire it was still on the rim but the whole center of the rim was missing , I found it still attached to the car. I took the car back to where I bought it Raceway Ford in Riverside California . I have been talking to Glenn there and he told me he called the Ford Rep, and was told Ford wasn't going to do anything about it. He said I have to go through my insurance. My question is why should I have to go through my insurance when it's obviously a defective rim that was cracking and caused the whole situation. I was shocked when he told me Ford wouldn't step up to the plate and fix the problem. All I'm asking for is the car to be fixed. this situation could have been so much worse if my Son had been driving to school on the Freeway, instead of me just being on a residential street.
In case you would like to talk to Glenn
I really hope that you can help me.
