Mr. Fritz, my grandfather, Sylvester Galonska, was an employee of the Chicago Northwestern RR when he was killed in a train accident in Chicago on Jan. 30, 1918. In contacting the CNW Historical Society to obtain a copy of the accident report so I can find out what happened, I was told that when UPRR acquired CNW in 1995, those records were transferred to UPRR and promptly destroyed. Please tell me this isnt so, and advise me with whom I may speak to gain this genealogical info. I would appreciate your assistance more than you know.
