I am leasing a car 2015 Forester which I got from autonation Subaru in Hunt Valley, MD. My original lease was a 3 yr lease beginning in February 2015. There was an issue with the radio and Bluetooth not working properly. After 3 replacements, they decided to trade my car for a 2017. This took place in August 2016. I was dealing with Elaine and Bob Black. They could not have been nicer. I was told that my payments would remain the same. When I went to sign the new papers, I was told by the finance manager (Pablo) , who no longer works there, that I would only be responsible for payments through the end of my original lease which was i8 payments and Subaru would pay through the remainder of the new lease ending August 2019. He explained that he had to put 36 months on the lease to make the numbers come out to the correct monthly payment. I couldnt make this up if I tried. When I called Subaru to verify this they told me they had a 3 year lease and nothing about what Pablo had told me. At that time, I became very upset and disgusted with this dealer and the way things were being handled.
The reason for this letter is that I recently found a voicemail from Pablo that in fact does state that he was working on getting the paperwork to work out for 18 payments. I will send you a transcription of the voice mail he left me.
I love the car but this has been a less than pleasant experience. I do appreciate them switching cars though to remedy the problem.
If I have to pay through the end of the 3 year lease, regardless of what I was told by the service manager, this will be my last dealings with this dealer. I am hoping that you can help and that I can continue dealing with this autonation dealer.
