Hugh sent a message to W. Craig Jelinek – President and Chief Executive Officer of Costco Wholesale Corporation email address that said:

Mr. Jelinek,

I've been a Costco customer since 2009. I received an email today saying that my Costco Visa card had been deactivated due to inactivity and suggesting that it may have been because I need to renew my membership. I assume this is due to the change from American Express to Visa, but I have never had this problem where I now have to renew my membership by going online or into an actual store, and then I have to call to get my card reactivated.
Due to this, I'm not quite sure I want to reactivated my card and go through this on an annual basis.
