Mr. Joly,I would like to share with you an incident that took place at – Hubert Joly email address

Mark S Fishkind sent a message to Hubert Joly President and CEO, Best Buy email address that said:

Mr. Joly,

I would like to share with you an incident that took place at Best Buy Store #2504 at around the 6:45 pm today, Feb. 1, 2018. I had purchased an Airbase Pro Premium Suction Mount for my wife to use in her car so her cell phone could become a navigation system or so she could talk hands-free if she did not wish to use OnStar.

When I went to Customer Service to obtain a store credit so I could purchase a unit that would plug into the power outlet, the young lady behind the counter told me that I had missed the return window by two weeks but that since it was a store credit she thought it might be waived. She got on her mic and spoke to the store manager who denied my request.

At this point, I asked to speak to the manager and Steven Sonday, General Manager, appeared. He is a very rigid person. I explained the situation and he said there was nothing he could do. Which of course we both know is not the case. In my disgust, I tossed the box down on the counter at which point Mr. Sonday told me the conversation was over and that if I did not leave he was going to call the police. I asked him why he would call the police, I had not raised my voice, I had not made any threatening gestures, all I wanted was a store credit so I could purchase a product my wife could use and that would work. When I said I was going to move because I had done nothing wrong, he spoke to someone on his mic and told them to call the police.
At this point, I felt threatened by Mr. Sonday and his aggressive actions. I will tell you this, I have been a customer of Best Buy for many years but due to this gentlemens actions I will no longer be buying products from you, especially when you sell me a useless product and then, because I am two-weeks past the return date, tell me so sad, too bad.

I dont think I need to continue to do business with such a company and I am sure, if the roles were reversed, you would feel the same way. I hope you better train your people. Mr. Sonday mentioned that there was a videotape of our conversation. I welcome you to watch it and come to your own conclusions. So, for the whopping price of $29.99, of which you were going to get back plus more because I had other items I needed to purchase but went to Office Depot instead, your GM lost my business and my families business. I dont know what recourse I have because of Mr. Sondays actions but you being the President and CEO should be aware of how customers are treated.

Sincerely,
Mark S. Fishkind
