Mr. Lesar, I am very disappointed in Halliburton and Halliburton Management. After 34 years – David Lesar email address

Douglas sent a message to David J. Lesar Chairman, President, and CEO, Halliburton that said:

Mr. Lesar,
I am very disappointed in Halliburton and Halliburton Management. After 34 years of dedicated Service with Halliburton, I was RIF'd out.
The excuse or reason was the lamest one I have ever heard. I was offered a retirement package and in so many words was advised to take it or in a couple of weeks I would be unemployed anyway and I would receive NOTHING.
At the time I was the PE Service Manager in Hobbs, NM. I was advised that the company was not going to continue with the original plan of expanding operations in Hobbs but rather they were going to take away my frac crews and put them in Artesia as well as Brownfield leaving only 1 crew in Hobbs and that crew would be run out of Odessa.
What really got my goat was the fact that less than a month prior to my being RIFd out an engineer was put into the PE Service Manager position in Artesia. The Management team knew they were going to eliminate my position in Hobbs and instead of offering me this position they decided to eliminate me.
I realize it is not my position to understand why the company does what it does but this made no sense to me at all and it still does not.
I am now 58 years old and looking for work once again. I was required to leave the company in March of 2014.
As you are probably NOT aware I did some things in Hobbs that made the PE Group one hell of a lot more profitable and I put into place the Heavy Equipment Defensive Driving Course. Not only did I put it in place I designed it. I am sure that you are not aware that this course works as we had an 80 percent drop in Heavy Equipment Incidents after the first year that this course was in place. We used it for the PE group in Hobbs. It was offered to other areas but there was not much interest, or at least that is how it appeared.
I also know that my record may have some hits on it one being an incident where I was making a joke with a friend in an email, it just so happened that the friend was in HR and once Sharla got ahold of it she made a huge deal out of it. I had to go through Anger Management and did so without question. The Psychiatrist even laughed at what the letter stated and though that my being required to attend Anger Management was a laugh as well.
There may be some other things as well but I have to say that I have been more of an ASSET to the company than a Liability.
I was very much a key player in the designing and building of the AOF Blender. I painstakingly started the project at OXY of Mixing Acid on location for them which eventually led to the building of the Blender. I still have pictures of the Blenders I built and used building up to the AOF Blender. We saved Oxy Millions of dollars and we recovered even more when Oxy started using us exclusively for their acid work.
I know that you will not read this and I am quite confident that you could care less about myself. Even though When I was in Algeria you told me that you would like to talk with me about what trends I had seen over my 30 years with the company.
Once again I asked to speak with you while I was in Hobbs and you advised that you would again like to speak with me, but this never happened.
I apologize for taking up your valuable time, and I would like to wish you and the company all the best in the years to come. I am just so sorry that I will not be a part of it.
I looked so much to retiring at age 70 with the company.
I feel that I did my job and I did it better than most. The people that worked under me knew that I was honest and I would do what I said I would do. I proved it over and over.
Feel free to contact me if you would like, I would still love to speak with you about the trends.
Sincerely,
Douglas
