Mrs. Niekerk sent a message to J. Mario Molina – President and Chief Executive Officer of Molina Healthcare, Inc. – Email Address that said:
Mr. Molina, I am emailing you out of sheer desperation. I am a new member of Molina, with membership starting on 1 January 2017. Today, the 19th of January, I wanted to make an appointment to see my PCP for a severe sinusitis. When I called the doctor that YOUR company has assigned to me, he said he is not credentialized. Long story short - I called ALL the doctors on your website that were supposed to be available to me under my plan, and I could not find ONE. Either they don't accept Molina, or they are in private practice, or a completely different doctor answer at a given number,or the doctor doesn not provide primary care. Then I called Molina itself, where a customer representative tried to help me. She even called some doctors while I was on the line, and could not find one. She said I was free to use my old doctor from my previous insurance, but to remember I would be 100% responsible for the servive. WHAT? It is as if I am completely without insurance!! You are very quick to take my premium, and keep emailing and sending me reminders to pay, but you can't provide a primary care doctor within 10 miles of my address? I am NOT going to accept this. I will go to the media here in Dallas and expose your company for the greedy liars you are. Oh, and by the way, we are not even a low income family - my husband is self-employed and YOUR pathetic insurance was about all that was available to us. I pity a real low income family trying to get any service out of you. I am now forced to go to my old doctor where I would be responsible for the entire visit AND prescription medicine. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT THIS SITUATION??? Your company is taking money from innocent people and enriching yourselves. It was fairly easy to find out what your salary was last year. Currently I am a homemaker, but I used to practice as a lawyer, and I can tell you I have all the time in the world to expose your company for what it is. I would be most surprised if I ever hear back from anyone at Molina. Before enrollment, I sent emails to your company and have never heard back from you. For the life of me I can't understand how a company such as yours is allowed to operate. All we can hope for now is that the new president repeals the ACA.
