Steven sent a message to John J. Mulligan Interim President and CEO, Target Corporation that said:
Mr. Mulligan, I just read that Target has publicly endorsed same-sex marriage. Why would a retail store like Target need to take a stand like this? You are not a political organization or activist group (at least, apparently, until now). My sense is that you are caving to pressure from either the Obama administration or militant gay rights groups. Or the company's palms are getting greased by someone. Very unfortunate and not very smart. I have shopped at Target since the 70s. I disagree completely with your stance and will no longer give Target my business. That will mean little to you, obviously, but it is one small gesture I can make in opposition to your position. And I will pass the word along.First, you ban Salvation Army volunteers from the front of your stores at Christmas and now publicly advocate same-marriage? What's next, corporate sponsorship of NAMBLA?What's wrong with this picture?Steven
