Michael sent a message to Glen F. Post, III President and CEO, CenturyLink, Inc. – email address that said:
Mr. Post,
I am writing this complaint to you because you are my last recourse. I moved from Tallahassee to Las Vegas in July. Experienced some financial difficulties but needing internet access, I had heard good things about Century Link. Requesting pure broadband access, since I have no landline phone (only cell phone/ATT) and my television was in storage, I was assured by the customer rep who created my account that my bill would be under $50. The bill came and I was charged $198 for Internet, landline and television. On 8/20, I went to your local store on Rainbow who refused to serve me but gave me a contact – direct billing. Over an hour later, speaking first to an Aisha (?) and then lady in a foreign country (I could barely understand her) who assured me the charges were expunged and my bill would be for pure broadband Internet access only. I went to the Century Link store on 9/10, in good faith, and asked how much I owed and they told me it was $208 – for the same services I was charged previously! When I asked them to work with me they again refused and I asked for the number for retention. I spoke to Ricky. He assured me that everything would be taken care of; I would owe only two months Internet, $87.16, which I promptly paid. I was assured everything was taken care of, the bill would be sent to my email, which never occurred. I, once again in good faith, believed the matter was settled, until tonight, when I received a bill for $427.70, which also did not reflect my payment of $87.16.
I never asked for, nor used landline or television services from Century Link since I came to Las Vegas. I expect them to be taken out of my account charges. I am very disappointed in the service I have received from Century Link. It is my sincere wish that you can help me to resolve this issue. I only ask that the charges for services, I never received, be expunged from my account and that we get on with the business of Internet access and let me pay for my monthly pure broadband access. Is that too mjuch to ask? Mr. Post, I know you are very busy, but this needs to be resolved and if you can help me it would very much appreciated. I want to do business with Century Link but I refuse to dance around the monthly bill next again this month. Please respond at your earliest convenience. I need closure.
Thank you and all the best,
Michael
