Brian sent a message to Scott M. Prochazka – President and Chief Executive Officer of CenterPoint Energy – Email Address that said:
Mr. Prochazka,
We have a condominium in Oxford, MS for our son who attends the University of Mississippi. I set-up a gas install for Wednesday 08/17 and had my son wait from 8:00 to 5:00 as instructed. At 7:00 p.m. I found out that no one showed up so then I called to find out if someone was coming and the representative said the appointment had been cancelled. After speaking to him for 10 minutes, he and his supervisor did not know why their system cancelled the appointment and provided no explanation. So we rescheduled for Thursday 08/18.
When Thursday comes around, the gas representative shows up this time but fails to light the appliances because he stated there was "no access" to the appliances. Keep in mind that this is a condominium complex where several students are living during the fall and spring semester and they are all same set-up with the appliances in the attic. It was simply a matter of pulling the string on the ceiling attic door on the second floor (where he already was) and going up the stairs. Again, same set-up as all other condos in the complex.
I found out all of this when my son and his roommate stated that there was no hot water this morning 08/19. As a result, I called CenterPoint to speak to someone who stated the explanation above "no access" and I wanted to speak to a supervisor. The first time I was hung up on and when I called again I was finally able to speak to Penny (supervisor) who provided no help whatsoever. The common theme here seems to be incompetency.
All I am asking is for someone who is competent to come back today (08/19) and light the appliances. Nothing more and nothing less and please do not tell me it is a courtesy to have a representative light the appliances. Is it also a courtesy to schedule an appointment and then have no one show up from CenterPoint while we wait all day with no idea it had been cancelled by your system?
It goes both ways and this is a very simple thing to resolve.
