Denise sent a message to William H. Rogers, Jr. CEO, SunTrust Banks, Inc. – email address that said:
Mr Rogers, I am writing to you in a last ditch attempt to try and persuade Sun Trust Bank to stop supporting fraudsters and start protecting your clients' money.
I hold Power of Attorney over the financial affairs of Mary Bowditch who is in a nursing home in Bognor Regis in the UK.
Mary has fontal lobe dementia, and is totally unable to look after herself or her affairs. I am accepted by the US Social Security people as the responsible person for Mary’s finances, I am also regarded by the IRS as the person responsible for her financial affairs. I am a signatory of Mary’s trust fund account held at Schwab Bank in New York.
Last year I sent by courier all the paperwork regarding Mary’s condition, together with a copy of the Power of Attorney from the Court of Protection in the UK. Sun Trust Bank stated they would not do anything unless Mary went to the States to visit them.
Subsequently, an unsigned credit card was found in one of the public areas of the Nursing Home, that Sun Trust had sent to Mary, and frequently copies of her bank statements are also found in the nursing home.
William. Mary has about US$15,000 in her account with you, that last year we asked to be transferred her account in Schwab Bank mainly for reasons of safety. Her late husband Roy Bowditch, always spoke highly of Sun Trust when they lived in Tampa and how helpful you were. My experience is that you appear to be more helpful to aiding fraudsters that protecting Mary’s money especially as when I recently corresponded with Sun Trust the response from Sherry R Fuller was again to refuse to do anything unless Mary visits you. Quite obviously people are eithert not bothering to read the medical information, or are just not interested in protecting her money. Again you have stated that you will continue to send financial information to an insecure location.
I recognise that you undoubtably have to be mindful of the needs to protect your clients, but would suggest that at present you are putting Mary’s financial information at risk.
If you really are unable to do anything to help, could I please ask that you let me have details of the relevant regulatory organisation in Florida so I can bring to their attention your continued instance on refusing to protect Mary’s financial position
