Mr. Sorenson,
I am writing you as an SPG Gold Member and SVO owner. My wife is a Marriott Silver Member Ironically yesterday I linked our accounts. Subsequently I attempted to modify a reservation, shortening a stay from Thurs to Sun to just Thurs. The rate for the room I HAD AREADY RESERVED more than doubled from $230 to $470. Any attempt to address this with the hotel (Toronto Marriott Eaton Centre) and Customer Care was unsuccessful. I cancelled the reservation but now, because SPG is part of you company, I felt I had no way to protest or express my frustration. This was my fear that with less competition, loyalty would no longer be rewarded. I booked a room with Hilton and will talking about this with my professional colleagues. Just thought you would want to know about this as you embark upon your amalgamation.
