Bob sent a message to Arne M. Sorenson President and Chief Executive Officer of Marriott International, Inc. Email Address that said:
Mr. Sorenson:
We are e-mailing you because of a situation we have been enduring with Marriott Vacation Club. We have been owners since 1997 and up until now have enjoyed all vacations we have booked. This past May we stayed at the Frenchmans Reef Marriott in St. Thomas, VI where we purchased $25,000.00 of additional points. We then were booked to use 7,000 of these points at the Ritz Beachfront in Naples, FL. However, due to Hurricane Irma the hotel sustained major damage and we were forced to cancel. We assumed that we would be able to carry over these points into 2018. We were put in contact with a Ginger Bennion in Salt Lake City, Utah. She unbelievably suggested that we should GIVE these points to someone who could use them in 2017! We asked her via e-mail that if she had paid for vacation time, would she give it away. After that correspondence, we tried at LEAST 6 more times to contact her and she never replied by phone or e-mail. We also told her that we would book a vacation in 2017, but would only be able to use it in 2018. We have NEVER been treated like this by Marriott in the past and are hoping that you can be of help in resolving this matter. We are also posting this situation on Twitter if it not resolved ASAP. We thank you for your time and help.
