Steve sent a message to Michael D. White, President, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer DIRECTV, Inc. – email address that said:
Mr.White,
I am writing you to voice my displeasure with the difficulty I am having with the customer service representative in trying to secure some form of package to keep Denver CO local channels so we can watch the Denver Broncos when we move to Phoenix on 5/15/2016.
I have put in a request for a DISH Mover to be installed in my new home in Phoenix on 5/15/2016. We are moving from Denver on 5/9/2016 to Phoenix. We have been loyal customers for over 10 years, and have moved with you several times, and in most cases, have referred the folks who buy our homes to DirectV after we leave, after telling them how great the service is, and how well we have always been treated. IN this case though, we really need the ability to watch the Denver Broncos play on TV in Phoenix, as their games are not always locally televised in the Phoenix area. I had asked if they could throw in the NFL Sunday ticket for free, like you offer for your new customers, and was told that I could pay 6 payments of $42/mo. The only reason we would not pay for this package is we only want to watch the Broncos, not the other teams. I politefully declined, and was told there was a way that they could provide us the Denver area sports package for an additional $13/mo. By the time we have gone around and around with this customer service representative, she couldn’t figure out the way to do it, but offered me the ability to keep my Phoenix area home as the billing address and my service address as the home are selling so we could do it like folks who have RV’s and use their service address to keep their local channels profile while traveling. I don;t see how I an give Directv my address at a home I no longer own as my service address. Especially if our home buyers sign up for Direct TV.
I guess I’m just taken back that after all these years of service with your company, and all the referrals we have done, that DirectV can’t find a way to provide us with the NFL Sunday ticket for free since I have been your customer for 10 years, and you give this package to away to new customers that you don’t even know if they will still be with you a year after signing up. If we cannot figure out a way to get this service provided to us so we can watch our local home team in our new address in AZ, then we may be forced to change our mind, and switch to a competitor for our television needs in the Phoenix area when we move n three weeks.
Any assistance you can provide in helping us get access to our local team would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.
