I will give you a little background information & then we can proceed from here.
I made a complaint around April 2020 to GM about my 2015 Chevy Silverado high country. I bought the vehicle new in March 2015. In April 2020, I noticed that the paint was bubbling and peeling off my vehicle, in the same spot on both rear doors. I filed the complaint and was told to take it to an authorized dealer, so I took it back to the dealer I bought the vehicle. The body shop supervisor looked at the vehicle told me that it was indeed a factory problem. So I proceeded to Finnish the process. The work to be completed to make the vehicle whole would cost 2300 dollars. GM said they would pay 425, and I would have to pay 1850. While I was getting my truck inspected the supervisor inspecting my vehicle said that he had another 2015 chevy that was doing the same lamenting going on with another vehicle. (interesting right) I do not feel this is proper for a factory defect on this product. I have been a loyal GM buyer in the past. I currently own a 2018 GMC Yukon. I am not satisfied with GMs response to a loyal customer. If nothing is done to help resolve the issue, I am done supporting GM products. Today I had a neighbor asking how I liked my High Country truck, after I showed him my lamenting paint, he commented that GM will not be on his list of a new truck he is looking to purchase.
As a retired military member who served this country on active duty for over 20 years, it is a shame to see the continued poor workmanship of American made products. It is a shame / failure of American business to support long term customers. If you keep up these business practices GM will loose all customers to foreign competitors.
