My husband has been an associate of JCP for over 22 years. He is resigning this week due to retaliation over HR complaints he has made against his dishonest store manager who pressure associates to work off the clock. I understand that JCP has pressure to perform right now, but letting amazing people walk out the door will never get you where you want to go. Do you care that every time they hear you are visiting or another exec is visiting they blow up the budget leaving the store in chaos for the week? Do you care that your visits are prearranged so you only see perfection? Do you care that the store manager and district manager both told him that his 22 years means nothing to them and that JCP is a new company? Do you think no one is noticing that you are making supervisors take over manager's positions with no rate increases to match? They even took away the computer privileges in this store to further degrade the supervisors. What is happening in the Springfield, VA store is a true shame, and I just have to believe that if you truly knew what is being done you would change things. I hope this finds you before you lose more incredible people like him. His associates cried. Everyone is so bummed to lose him. They are supposed to be the ones that matter but that seems to be lip service only. I will no longer shop at JCP and neither will my family. I watched you all take the happiest, nicest guy in the world and turn him into someone unrecognizable. I look forward to getting my husband back. Shame on all of you for putting the bottom line profits on all the associates. as you shrink costs to appear profitable, you are driving away all the talent. That strategy is unsustainable, and you should not need me to tell you that. Oh, and lastly, your HR team did nothing to help him. His one and only complaint in 22 years and he was left alone to suffer.
