My husband lost his job in March. COBRA cost was $2000 a month so I checked other options...and each time saw my only option was one of the Obamacare plans, with pricey monthly premiums and high deductibles. I met with an insurance agent to verify information. I asked if certain doctors were in the network...he checked your website and said yes they were. I selected a plan and now a month later, my daughter needs to see one of the doctors I had asked about. I called Anthem and was told TWO MORE TIMES, yes, he's in the network. Then I called for an appointment and was told that he's not in the network. Then I called a doctor listed as in-network, who my daughter has also seen, and was told the doctor won't accept the plan.
Please advise what alternatives I have. Am I just stuck with the plan that I selected based on incorrect information? If my daughter needs surgery, out of pocket maximum out of network is $30,000 per person. How do I switch to a plan...even at hgher her cost, that these doctors will accept?
I appreciate your feedback and would be happy to talk with you further about this.
