My wife and I purchased a Kenmore Elite Gas slide in range in 2012 with a service contract for 3 years. This evening the front door glass shatters as I was closing it. I call customer service and was transferred some many places it is not funny. I got was a lot of run around about why the glass shattered. Hilda at Customer Care told me she was the highest person to talk to about this and wanted to charge me $55 to have someone come out and order the door for me. I would think that Sears would not design or build an oven with a glass door that could shatter for no reason and potentially hurt a child. If indeed these doors are made of such glass I will replace all my Sears appliances with something else. I would be happy to share the model number of the range and answer any questions. Up to now I have been very satisfied with the Sears products.
