My wife and I (senior citizens) experienced the electrical outlet in Trenton several days ago and fortunately we were without power for only 24 hours. Today I called DTE because our furnace was out -showing a code of 42 meaning our outside inducer was not working. We are on the DTE protection plan and have been for years. When we called DTE today(2:04 p.m.) , we were told nobody would be out until tomorrow between 8 and 4pm. This is a gas problem and we are wondering why we would have to wait until tomorrow to have this repaired. In the past, if DTE were swamped with calls, a furnace company would come out, sometime AFTER 4p.m. Has customer service changed that much where we have to wait until an available DTE unit can respond? We are just wondering how the person at the desk at DTE would know there is no one available in our area at 2:00pm as soon as we called., as there was not much of a wait to verify this knowledge.
