Re: Formal Complaint regarding the way I was treated in your store by one of your employees
Dear Mr. Levin,
I am typing this letter as an Formal Complaint regarding the way I was treated in one of your store by one of your employees. On September 3, 2018, my Husband and I visited the Family Dollar Store Number# 11775, Located: 6105 Harford Road, Baltimore, Maryland 21214, approximately at: 7:45 PM, there I was treated extremely rude, very poorly, to sum it up... I was treated in a dehumanizing manner by one of your Employee-Assistance Manager, Candra. I made an attempt to return 6 Gold Mirrors in which I purchased from another Family Dollars Store,Store: # 08236, Location: 6656 Security Blvd,Baltimore, Maryland, on: August 19, 2018. Store# 08236 is approximately 15 miles away. Store# 11775 is around the corner from which I reside and it is exactly 5 minutes tops.
Candra was extremely rude and did refused to accept my return items, and she refused to refund my money for my purchases. *Please be advised that all 6 gold mirrors was in it original box, unopened,unused and not damaged. I did presented Candra with receipt above reciept as mentioned,My Maryland Driverâs License,and Debit Cards. I asked Candra why can't I returned my merchandise at this store? Why are you refusing to refund my money?
Candra stated to me that she could not accept other merchandise from another Family Dollar Stores.Candra told me to take the merchandise back to the Family Dollar Stores from which I purchased them from.I asked her ....where in the store ...is the store policy that you are quoting posted in the store.... that Family Dollars Store do not accept other merchandise from other Family Dollars Stores? I repeated to Candra as long as I have a receipt that is not past 30 days, that reflects purchase,and as long as all of the merchandise is in its original box, unopened,unused or undamaged I should be able to return the items at any Family Dollar Store.
I then, told Candra I have never had this problem ever before. What is new has the Store Policy Changed? Candra began to yell at me in front of my husband,and line full of customers. She stated that she has been working for Family Dollars Stores for two years and she has always did this.
I explained to Candra I had been shopping at Family Dollars since it opened up in Maryland, and at multiple locations,too. I have never had any issues with returning merchandise with a receipt. I then asked her for the Store Managerâs Name, and Store Number. Candra refused to give me the store manager name and store number. I then asked for Family Dollars Corporate Office Candra continued to yell at me in front of customers and told me to Google it. I had to request twice for Candra to give me back me receipt.
My husband and I left the store in total pure disbelief of what we just experienced. The next, morning I immediately contacted surrounding Family Dollars Stores in the area shared with how I was treated at store# 11775, and requested for Family Dollars Stores Corporate Office contact information.
In addition,I was given Family Dollar Stores Corporate Office contact information.
And correct return policy. I just wanted to bring the above incident to your attention regarding how I was treated very disrespectful and with no regards,refused service and my refund.
To sum it up...I was devalued as a customer by your employee Candra. Candra behavior towards me in front of customers was definitely not warrant and definitely unacceptable.
I have always been an avid Family Dollar Store Shopper and, have for many years.
I should have never been treated like this; no one should in this manner.
Candra 's behavior and mannierism is a negative reflection of Family Dollar Store Company.
If Candra's rude, unprofessional, and unethical behaviours continues my husband and I, along with my neighbors, friends and family all have agreed to stop shopping at all of Family Dollar Stores... period.
I am requesting that this incident is addressed immediately so that no other customer is treated like this. I wait to hear from you regarding above incident that took place in one of you stores.
