Michael O Shaughnessy sent a message to Stephen Burke that said:
Sir, NBC and it various outlets are a disgrace to broadcasting. Your coverage of the Olympics is a joke. Advertising running riot. Now known as the Tour de France syndrome, ads are taking up to 50% of broadcast time. Programs advertised are not shown. Some commentators shouldnât be commentating on frog racing in Outer Mongolia. They spend hours preening themselves in son multi million dollar facility, before foist their egos on the poor public. All while making ungodly money. Running ads in the middle if live action of football (soccer) games. Sacrilege. I could go on and on and on and on and on for hours.
It is unconscionable what you are doing to these olympics and indeed to the wider world of sport.
I would think that a reply will be far too much to expect. After all a I am just an ordinary Joe trying to enjoy something that is right now most unenjoyable, bordering on unwatchable
Thanking you. Be safe.
