Desiree Ellison sent a message to Mark Parker that said:

Dear Mark,
Hi, my name is Desiree Ellison, I am writing to you as a concerned citizen who has the desire to become a voice for communities with starting a non-profit organization. As I am aware and appreciative of your support of Black Lives Matter, its movements, and the recent unfortunate situation which has provoked protest across the nation, I plead to the willingness of your humanity. During the “March on Washington” on June 20, 2020, I would like to sell printed t-shirts and mask, donating part of the proceeds to re-building and uniting communities effected by such events. This is the time for everyone to become involved without dally. I am hoping that Nike would embark on this journey by supplying the necessary equipment to help inspire this expedition.
The organization is in the groundwork stages, this will be the first function of many. Some of the categories we wish to assist with our friends, family and community ran advocacy are; connecting law enforcement with the community, prisoner and family communication assistance, early release for prisoners with health conditions, job readiness, youth employment, homeless, helping hands for seniors and connecting the Deaf community with the nation, just to name a few. We are hoping some of our projects will expand nationally and would love for Nike to be on our team assisting us on this journey.
Thank you so much for your time, we hope to hear from you in the very near future. Have a blessed day!
Sincerely,
Desiree Ellison
