Dear Mr. Raines:
My name is Gabriela and I am a fan of the Game Stop stores. Everything related to games, consoles and electronic devices and bought it at your stores. You have a very good inventory and that makes your stores very popular, so imagine my reaction when I found out a few months ago that you were closing all your stores all around the world.
I was born and raised in Puerto Rico and the information your company provided to the Puerto Rican media was that all Game Stop stores would be closing. Everybody believed it and nobody cared to look for information about it. The thing is that now I live in Atlanta, Georgia and when I was at the shopping mall I couldn’t help to notice that there is a Game Stop store in that shopping center. Moreover, I was told that it wasn’t the only one in the area.
People from Puerto Rico, especially young people, need places where to buy games and electronic features. The country is suffering economically, and people are trying to survive a recession, so places like Game Stop makes everything better for those who can’t pay a lot of money traveling, eating at restaurants or going to concerts. Also, we don’t like to be lied the same way I suppose that you as CEO don’t like to be lied about anything. Lying to us was a bad move from your part because we trusted you, so you owe us an apology and the possibility to make a comeback.
Consider re opening the stores. People are happy when they find that something they really like is affordable and good. Taxes in Puerto Rico are the highest in all USA, but that is not an excuse for letting people down and without man options for fun and happiness. I know that Rome wasn’t built in one day, so I know that you will take time to consider the possibility of re-opening Game Stop stores in the Island. Please, consider them.
I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity of having fun with your products. I hope that give the same chance to others.
