On 1-21-16 I used my Target credit card to send money to a grandson through – Brian C Cornell email address

Dennis sent a message to Brian C. Cornell Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, Target Corporation that said:

On 1-21-16 I used my Target credit card to send money to a grandson through Money Gram Walmart. I was charged a fee by Money Gram Walmart of $11.40 to send $80.

On my Target Statement I find an entry 1-23-16 for a cash advance fee of $5.00 and an entry for 2-5-16 for a minimum charge.

In my mind I did not get a cash advance from Target, I paid for a service from Money Gram Walmart - just as I would purchase a head of lettuce or some other product or service from a 3rd party vendor.

On 2-12-16 I called Target Credit Card Services and was told that the issue would be referred to another group/team to be considered and I would be called back in a few days. I was never called back. On 2-24-16 I called Target Credit Card Services and was told that the policy is the policy. I was told the $1 charge could be waived, but not the cash advance fee. I asked to talk to a supervisor and spoke to Allison. She said by policy it was a cash advance. She said there was no other group/team that the issue was referred to. She told me there was no supervisor /manager above her that I could talk to. She said I could write to Mailbox 5C-F, PO Box 673.

I have been a loyal Target shopper since Target #1 opened in Roseville, MN. The $5 is not a big deal, but there is a principle here (for me). I did not (in my world) get a cash advance from Target. I paid for a product (a cash transfer) with my Target card. I am not aware of being told anywhere along this way that I would pay a fee to Target on top of a fee to Money Gram Walmart. If I charge a product from Amazon to be delivered in another state does Target charge me a fee on top of the Amazon charges? How is this the same as if I got a cash advance from Target or VISA?

I used to think that Target and I had a mutual, loyal and customer focused relationship.
