Dear Mr. Izzo,
I am hoping you can help me with an issue I was just made aware of regarding my account with PSEG. My wife and I have temporarily relocated out of state. Before doing so we paid our account in full and transferred the bill for the house we still own to the new tenant (That was at the end of July). Yesterday we received a collection bill from an outside company in the amount of over $800. When I contacted the company I was informed that the bill was sent to them 6 days ago. I contacted customer service at PSEG and was informed that approximately $700 was due to balanced billing and the other $123 was from July 21st till July 31st (10 days). These charges are outrageous. Even though the rep was able to confirm they had our new address we have received nothing from PSEG (Our mail is even still being forwarded). I need assistance with getting this situation corrected. If you or someone from you staff could please contact me so we can come up with a reasonable and fair figure to resolve this. I was born and raised on long island and have never seen rates like this. I feel as though we are being penalized for closing our account.
