My husband and I are in the process of refinancing our mortgage to secure a lower interest rate. My husband is a 7 year employee of Quest. I had to pull his recent paystubs and last years 2019. As a 7 year employee as a Courier and someone who has had 1 sick day in those 7 years I was so sad to see that he doesn’t even make $14/hr ($13.95/hr) to be exact. My husband works very hard at his job and takes a lot of pride in what he does. He would make more money collecting unemployment but he would rather work. We recently went on his insurance and since he has to pay over $500 a month for it he now brings home after that and taxes about $275/week. I retired from my job last year but am now contemplating going back to work to bring in more money but is very difficult during this time to find jobs especially jobs even making close to what you were making.

My point is, how does a 7 year employee with Quest which is also a Fortune 500 company make less than $14/hr? He should be making at least $17-$18/hr. I think he received a .20 cent raise this year, yes .20 cents, and the year prior received nothing. He is not even earning a living wage yet he is responsible for people’s specimens. I feel very sad for my husband who has put his heart into doing a good job and there is absolutely no reward or incentive to be paid what you deserve.
