Hello Sir, I am contacting you about a very unpleasant situation that I experienced in your store, Safeway, 18730 E Hampden Ave, Aurora, CO 80013. I have shopped at this store since inception, and had no problems previously. However, I went into the store on February 14, 2020 and was discriminated against, lied to and treated very rudely. I tried to escalate to in store management (John) and was treated rudely and lied to by him and the female manager up front. I left my entire basket of groceries and told them they would no longer get any of my hard earned money if this is how they were going to treat me. I was told it is corporate policy to not allow people to get anything from the meat or seafood department unless they went up front and paid for it first. I have never been told this before, so it was new to me. I have also never been so humiliated before in my life. However, the caucasian customer a couple people in front of me, was given his food and allowed to take it up front without paying in advance. I called your corporate number to file a complaint and was told by Donna that she had other complaints about this and that she believed it to be a new policy. During the conversation she became very rude and disrespectful and tried to end the call. I asked for her supervisor and spoke to Christine who did take my information and apologized she also said she will escalate, but I thought it important enough to make sure you are informed. I have also escalated this to our local television affiliates, because discrimination and racially profiling is unacceptable. I would like a formal apology and the local management reprimanded along with a call back from you. Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to this.
