Sorry to bother you Sir, but I am in a major situation dealing with my Centex home I purchased 13 years ago. I have tried to handle this situation at the lowest level, but unfortunately I keep getting the run around about my issue.
To make this short and sweet, I am in the process of selling one of my properties and during the inspection, I was told there is a possibility that the residence is going to be red tagged. I currently have renters in the house and trying to prevent them from having to move out.
Here is my issue, the chimney was never finished. The chimney stops in the middle of the attic. The gas company is in an uproar and wants it fixed. When I call and speak with Centex home associates, all I am being told was the house is too old. I completely understand the home being too old, but unfortunately I am not a contractor and never went up in the attic and inspected the chimney. I am having a difficult time understanding why this situation cannot be rectified. I am also being told there is the possibility there can be health issues associated with this unfinished chimney. I am willing to send a copy of the inspector report and a photograph of the unfinished chimney in the attic.
