I hope this email finds you well and healthy. I am writing in regards to a situation that occurred with a customer service rep on "Chat" for Staples.
Just a little information about myself. My name is Cynthia Bruno and I am a Special Education teacher and I teach children with Autism in NJ.
As you may be aware, all teachers are currently working from home. We spend hours upon hours preparing materials for our students and zooming to ensure our students are continuing their day as normal as possible.
I am continuously in need of ink, paper and other supplies since I am printing materials for my students and dropping work at their houses. Instead of purchasing from Amazon, I decided to order from Staples, where I purchase all of my materials in the beginning of the year and throughout the year.
I contacted customer service yesterday and asked if there were any coupons available. I was told "unfortunately no". I was extremely disappointed to hear there was nothing to offer teachers, especially at a time like this. I don't mind spending my own money, purchasing ink and supplies but I would expect more support from a local store who provides teachers with their supplies. Especially when I am eager to spend in my community and support local businesses.
I urge you to reconsider this position. I would be more than happy to provide a credential or a letter to get even the smallest discount to help me help others. I would think that you would also want to support my community which in turn supports your business.
