I am a premire customer of HSBC for over 20 years in good standing. I just filed out a complaint-1219005919.
My daughter notified HSBC that she would be traveling in Europe after her college graduation. To make a long story short-her debit card was compromised and HSBC would NOT let her use the credit card.We are both on the account and I spent two days calling and was given a different story each time. Finally she had to take a taxi to an HSBC branch that would only give her $200 even though her account has more money and she missed her flight, let along the cost of international calls. She was unable to use the card at her hotel and now hast to pay back a friend and the international fees. This not only was costly but put a damper on her trip and I can thank HSBC for that. Some of the representatives I spoke to were just plain rude and everyone gave me a different story.Even after they said the credit card would work-it did not! As a parent of a child in Europe with no access to cash when we have enough in your institution, we are disapointed and figure this mix up cost us at least $500.
