My wife and I are in the process of purchasing a home in California and wanted to apply for Suntrust\'s Physician Mortgage Loan product. When I called to speak with a loan officer he mentioned that California is out of Suntrust\'s footprint, but an exception could be made if we have had an open deposit account with Suntrust for the last 12 months. I immediately thought about our savings account with the bank, but unbeknownst to me this account was closed with Suntrust about a year ago. It seems that when we had my wife\'s checking account closed in 2015, the customer service representative also closed the savings account, negating the 12-month exception. This very disappointing. My wife has been banking with Suntrust since 2005, we would have never completely ended the banking relationship. Is there anything that can be done so we can utilize the Physician Mortgage Loan program?
