@Target_Corp – Brian Cornell – It is with immeasurable disgust that I am compelled to forward this correspondence.<br>This is

It is with immeasurable disgust that I am compelled to forward this correspondence.
This is in reference to the most horrid shopping experience that I was forced to suffer today (11/10/2015) at your East Windsor location.
My wife selected a lamp and a shade in addition to several other items. When we arrived at the register to pay for the items we used your "TARGET RED CARD". We then ran the card through the electronic system. It came back that the card could not be used/approved. I could think of no earthly reason that it would have such a response. We tried it a second time and got the same results. Your associate running the register said that " The card was not allowed to be used and proceeded to pull the cart that contained the items away from us as if we were going to run out of the store with them. When I questioned what he was doing he said " your card is NO GOOD" and I have a line that I need to take care of. I cannot describe accurately enough how embarrassed we were, with a line of customers behind us looking at us like we were the "JAMES GANG. I questioned him as to why the card could not be used and his response was I don\'t know but I have to take the next customer. His treatment of both myself and my wife was rude, crude and totally unacceptable. All he would say was "CALL THE 800 NUMBER".
I then proceeded to call the 888 number ( NOT AN 800 NUMBER - it might help to properly inform your associates to give accurate information) and question why my card was unusable. The customer service representative informed my wife ( she is the primary account holder ) that "NEW CARDS were issued in AUGUST and that the ones we had were no longer valid. We explained that we never received any "NEW CARDS" and that we had no knowledge that any were issued, nor could we be expected to know that this actually had occurred. She was able to semi-resolve the situation by doing something that would allow the card to "GO THROUGH". My wife then asked to be connected to a "SUPERVISOR" to get some explanation as to why all this had occurred, and to where the new cards were, and why we were never informed that any had been issued. The only response was that they were sent to my old address ( we moved in excess of 17 months ago ) and she could not give any other reason. We tried once again to inform her that we had no knowledge of any of this, and furthermore why were we not questioned as to why we were still using the "OLD CARDS", if a new one had been issued. Her "LAME EXCUSE" for this was she didn\'t have a phone number to contact us with. This is an outright LIE as my wife consistently receives text message regarding Target sales and promotions. Having gotten no satisfaction from a supposed "SUPERVISOR" I told her it was my intention to escalate the matter and asked for the name of the C.E.O. and email address of the corporate office.
I don\'t know who is responsible for training your associates but her response was "I DON"T KNOW THAT".
As this episode dragged on in excess of one hour and as my wife is a recovering cancer patient and this type of aggravation and stress can cause her serious physical harm and due to the fact we were so totally frustrated and angered by all this we just left the store and went home. It was at this point that I decided to take the time and effort to apprise you and your staff of just what we were put through.
Should this email be disregarded ( as I suspect it will ) then I will be returning the entire purchase ( I am well aware that this is the equivalent of of single drop of water in the ocean in terms of sales for the entire organization ) but I will inform you that should that happen not only will I cease to consider Target as a viable retail resource, but it is my intention to relate this entire experience on any and every social media available to me. I believe that a reasonable time frame for such response would be no more than three (3) business days.

Respectfully;
