Thank you for deciding to not sell Aqua Bounty Technologies generically engineered salmon. It is predicted this decision will increase your business as you have given consumers a choice to buy fish from nature instead of a lab. I myself, and many others, do not want to be part of an experiment and consume the worldâs first genetically engineered animal for human consumption. I predict that many other corporations will copy your leadership.
An overwhelming 93% of U. S. consumers have said our government should require labels on food stating if it is genetically modified. âSuch near-unanimity in public opinion is rare,â per a June 2015 ABC News poll and statement. Sixty-four other countries label their GMO foods so consumers have a choice. The U. S. consumers want the right to know and to choose whether their food contains GMO ingredients and glyphosate, a slow acting poison.
The approval history of our government for processing and modifications as being safe does not build confidence in their safety testing process. Agent Orange,â DDT, Dioxins, and PCBs were all approved and later banned after causing considerable harm to humans and humanity.
