I want to start by apologizing for not following the chain of command, I was a corrections officer for 15 years & I am aware there is a procedure. At this point I will do anything and ask you to please just read this email as our family is begging for you to just hear us out.
8 years ago I was in a terrible car accident that resulted in 20 broken bones 14 of which left me fused from the neck down. I have been on long term disability with the Hartford & you guys have been amazing with me the entire time...until a couple days before the shutdown happened. I got a letter stating your doctor said I should have no restrictions and I am fully capable of having a job.
Sir, if that were true I would be the happiest woman on earth right now. I have had 3 jobs at all times since i was 13 & I LOVED my career in corrections! My dream was to make captain one day & I never worked under 50 hr work weeks. I cried on my bathroom floor for hours when I was told I would never work again. I am 36 I do NOT want to be on disability but please just look at my x-rays and tell me if you would think your wife would qualify for disability if it were her.
I'm grasping at straws and dont know where to turn. Please take a look at my case, yes I have a lawyer that says it will all work out but by the time he takes his 33% and all his fees we will still loose everything we worked for. The timing of this has completely worked against us. I have been 3 month without a paycheck, I cant get into see any doctors to even apeal, & we are losing our home we built from scratch. Never would I have pictured my life as it is today & I promise you I dont want to be disabled I loved my career and my family was very comfortable financially. Today we are losing our home, our credit is maxed out, & my kids dont understand why we have to move. It breaks my heart to tell them it is because of me, so I'm swallowing all my pride and begging you to at least take a look at my case, that's all I'm asking. Please contact me if you actually get this im praying to god something good can still come out of this and I would be forever grateful if you could give me just 1 phone call.
