Dear Mr. Ferguson:
This message is in regard tomy request for early termination of a copier lease with TIAA due to the closing of my business. I have been trying to negotiate a reduced buyout fee and copier return for 6 months, but the TIAA "collection" agents will not negotiate one cent lower than the payout. The full 39 months is $5000, far more than the copier ever cost. I have never defaulted on a loan, and always pay my monthly bills on time.
What is your company policy with regard to a business that closes and needs to get out of a lease? I thank you in advance for your help.
