Ike sent a message to Paul Reiche III CEO, Toys for Bob that said:
To the Great Creators of Star Control--the BEST game EVER made in the history of computer gaming:
I first want to thank you both, Paul and Fred, for allowing Stardock to make a new game in the Star Control universe. However I have an important question.
The forums said that because Activision bought Toys for Bob, you and Fred are unable to work with Stardock on a new star control. But why wont activision release the rights to the full franchise to both of you? I'm asking because as you know, Brian Fargo regained the full rights to the Bard's Tale franchise from EA and are making a kickstarter for Bard's Tale IV. Wouldn't it be possible for Activision to allow both of you to have full and complete involvement in the Star Control reboot? There has been a lot of concern about the Ur-Quan continuity (e.g. the cliffhanger end to Star Control 2 and the "Sequel" SC3 not being made by you and Fred). There has been a lot of bad blood amoung gamers about the last few Call of Duty games, so I think Activision could throw a bone to us and allow both of you to get fully involved in making a new star control. Maybe with some sort of credits or thanks to Activision (What happened to Accolade?)
Thank you very much.
