Tamas sent a message to Akio Toyoda President and CEO, Toyota Motor Corporation – email address that said:
To whom it may concern,
I would like to share my personal problems with you and ask for your advice and help regarding my recent purchase of a second hand Toyota Corolla.
My dream came true when I could buy a Toyota for my 60th birthday. My wife and I are both low income teachers, so we had to save up for years to be able to purchase the car we wanted. However our financial situation only allowed us a second hand vehicle.
According to the recommendations from friends and family we had no concerns about Toyota.
Unfortunately, my joy was short lived. After a few weeks of ownership the car malfunctioned and requiring an excessive oil consumption. After consulting with the Toyota service and other mechanics as well we had to realise that fixing the problem would cost us a small fortune. Unfortunately I cannot afford it now, as I have invested all our savings in the above mentioned purchase.
I have always thought about Toyota vehicles as reliable, trustworthy and good quality products. This is why I was not even thinking about searching for issues for certain years and models. My research about Toyota Corollas 1,33 l, manufactured between 2009 and 2011 said that these vehicles have issues about high oil consumption.
According to the Users Manual provided with the car – all the compulsory services and maintenance were correctly performed in a timely manner.
Because of this issue my trust is shaken but not lost in Toyota. To maintain it, I would like to ask your help and advice in fixing the problem.
Extending the factory warranty or replacing the faulty part in my vehicle would be a great help, but I am interested in any other recommendations that you could offer.
Looking forward to your answer.
