Robert sent a message to Michael J. Jackson – Chief Executive Officer of AutoNation Inc. – Email Address that said:
We unfortunately purchased this vehicle at a very high price $34K. While not much to you a great deal of money for my Wife and I who are retired.
The problems are multifaceted:
1. Toyota.com misrepresents the standard options on the Hybrid XLE model
2. The sale person we worked with also misrepresented the options
3. The overpriced Entune system does not work unless a cell phone with data is connected, this was not even brought to our attention until after the sale.
4. to top off the issues ENtune does not work by any stretch of the imagination, for a $3000.00 added cost seems to me it should actually function as an APP radio. It does not.
The apps are limited to those chosen by Toyota, seems the customers, since they own the device, would be far more qualified to determine which apps the chose to use.
We have been met with platitudes and nonsense and even an extremely rude young man today who informed the Entune system is working as designed. and there is nothing more he or Toyota intended to do. I asked for his manager and was met with resistance, he reluctantly provided his supervisors name and said I would get contacted the next full business day.
I would prefer not to pursue legal action but would rather settle this issue with Toyota directly.
We expect a refund for the Entune system and the unlock code to allow access to the internal working of a device we own since we purchased the unit along with the automobile.
This is our 5th and probably our last Toyota, I will make every effort to guide potential purchasers to other manufacturers unless we can get some relief from this issue.
We are at our wits ends to get a real solution to this problem.
