dear Steve, I don\'t know if you remember me. my name is Roxanne Jericho and I work (or should I say used to work) at Charleroi RTS but today they fired me. my heart is truly breaking, I will tell you the absolute truth about what happened, I have had RSD (regional sympathetic dystrophy) since 2001 stemming from a work injury when I had 4 surgery\'s for cubital tunnel syndrome This afflction is Very painful I get shocks that go up my arm and into my head I often get blisters.severe burning and spasms and swelling of my elbow but I have always preformed my job and then some and I was so very proud of myself that I was able, through sheer determination to return to work I do however have to take medication, I take lyrica, this slows down the constant nerve pain hydrocodone for pain and escitalopram this is an antidepressant I have to take because depression goes hand in hand with RSD This is the background now I will tell you why I was fired; last month (towards the end of the month) I went to my pharmacy and picked up my medicines. I had many things to do after work that day and somewhere along the line the bag with my medications in it must have fallen out of the car upon discovering them gone I called my doctors office and explained to them what happened (I talked to the nurse) she said she could reissue the lyrica and antidepressant but could not give me the pain meds again because it is a controlled substance, I said ok and I really tried to go without pain medication but I was really in bad pain. I told my husband what had happened after a few days and he said just use some of his until I can get mine again (he had a failed back surgery) I thought his was the same as mine except a little stronger so that is what I did, then on august 17 I was picked for a drug test I immediately told the person taking the test that I had taken my husbands back medication because I knew it was a higher mil. than mine, I also went in and told mark the entire story and he said we will wait and see what happens with the test and deal with it then, well it turns out that my husbands meds are NOT the same as mine they are oxycodone not hydrocodone I sent the doctor an email and told him just what I told mark and am now telling you PLEASE believe me when I say I DO NOT take drugs I lost my son to a drug overdose 3 years ago and am so agains\'t drug abuse that I cannot even begin to stress how close to my heart the issue is! my doctor is very strict about my care and keeping it to the safest level while still allowing me to function and work, I am BEGGING you PLEASE don\'t take my job I love my job and all of you. this was NOT a blatant disreguard for the rules this was an accident that I honestly did not think was wrong, the only reason that I told the drug tester and mark was to let them know I was taking a higher dose than normal and I was totally shocked that it was a different medication all together!! so please do not fire me I am a good person and a good employee I have so many depending on me with a sick husband and a sick mother PLEASE help me!!!!! my phone number is 724-377-1289 and my cell is 724-231-3679 again I am begging you for your help!!! thank you for listening, roxanne
