I am wanting to voice my concerns regarding issues with bereavement consideration. My husband has worked at the plant in Harrison, AR for nearly 10yrs and is being told bereavement policy will not apply for him because itâs my STEP grandfather that has passed away. Never mind the fact that heâs been my grandfather for nearly 30yrs, but how does a person get to decide that a relationship is or isnât meaningful? My husband is a pallbearer at the funeral and shouldnât be punished for that causing him to miss a day of work when he has excellent attendance even with a 2hr commute. I donât normally voice my concerns but this situation warrants speaking up. I would appreciate any assistance with this matter.
