When my wife suggested we buy a Ford, I was hesitant because of problems my – Mark Fields email address

Paul sent a message to Mark Fields – President and Chief Executive Officer of Ford Motor Company email address that said:

When my wife suggested we buy a Ford, I was hesitant because of problems my parents had with Fords. I still remember the Ford jokes my dad would tell..."Buy a Ford, you buy the best...drive a mile and walk the rest." Then I considered how long ago that was and realized I was being unreasonable.
So here I am writing this message while stranded 510 miles from home. What happened, you ask? My 2016 Ford Explorer, with 6407 miles, broke down. It happened approximately 10 times in a 2 mile span and we didnt make it back to our condo, prompting a tow to Beach Ford Lincoln of Myrtle Beach.
What upsets me the most is that they tell me they know about the problem with my Throttle Assembly and it's an ongoing problem that has resulted in the parts being on back order, with an approx 10 or more day wait. Why was I never notified? Why was there no recall? It seems that this was preventable. As a matter of fact, in the fire service we have a saying, "if it's predictable, it's preventable." Seems to be the case here. Now I'm sitting in a fast food restaurant, and not on the beach with my family, waiting to find out from a regional representative if we can get a rental car.
That was what upsets me; this is what angers me. My local dealership at home, Gene Latta Ford, said there was nothing they could do for me and to work out my problem with the local dealership. The local dealership, Beach Ford Lincoln, will not even provide me with a courtesy vehicle. They were inconvenienced by the mere request to borrow a pen. Now I know why their online reviews are less than favorable. So, This is why I am sitting in a fast food restaurant waiting to hear about a rental vehicle. I am stranded, upset, and angry.
Here's to hoping that the regional representative calls back and a rental car comes through! Thankfully Myrtle Beach is so nice, because it looks like I'll be making the 1,000 mile round trip again in a couple weeks to pick up my vehicle.

Needless to say, I doubt I will ever buy from Ford again. I think I should have stuck with Mopar.

Yours truly,
Paul
