Holly sent a message to Kevin Mansell – Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Kohl’s Corporation – Email Address that said:
Why are you paying us so low? Three years at Kohl's and I make $9.80 per hour. The only two raises I got was because they have to do it because of the cost of living minimum wage have increased. I didn't get any raises in pay because of my good work. I work very hard and I still can not prosper. Your store profitability is so low because of too many returns due to poor quality in clothes. If clothes are well made then these will be least likely to be returned. So, with less returns and Kohl's should be able to pay employees more money.
I was passed over for a promotion just because I am deaf . One of Manager told me that Kohl's are mentally set that they will not promote me because I can not hear. I have eight retail stores experience under my belt and two college degrees. Kohl's do discriminates against older workers and the disabled worker. I saw it with my own eyes that two older workers were passed over for the truck job for a 21 yrs old woman. Sure, theses two workers were very angry. One is quitting her job because of that!
I am sorry to tell you that this needs to change.
