Yesterday, I waited 22.5 minutes for Liz, RN to pick up a call regarding an authorization for a CT chest. The patient had a CT abdomen that showed a nodule at the base of the lung. This was an order for her 1st dedicated CT of the lungs. She approved it.
This is misuse/abuse of physicians. I am a Pulmonary/Critical Care MD, in practice 30 years. I have 15 17 yo sons that I like to see.
I think physicians should start a class action lawsuit against such insurers.
