@yumbrands – Greg Creed – My husband, Joseph, and I are Black physicians who have been married for 45 years

Brenda Williams sent a message to Greg Creed that said:

My husband, Joseph, and I are Black physicians who have been married for 45 years and have operated a private medical practice for 32 years in Sumter, South Carolina. We retired that practice nearly six years ago. In the interim, Joseph, an Internist and Geriatrician, works as a hospitalist at our local hospital. I, on the other hand, have devoted much time and effort being engaged in community improvement and by volunteering in the Sumter Community, representing our 501(c)(3), non-profit, charitable organization, The Family Unit, Inc, which was founded in December 2009.

We opened a free medical clinic in March of this year, designed to provide medical care to uninsured people in our community and surrounding areas. Nearly two weeks after the clinic's opening my husband contracted the COVID 19 disease and within another two weeks, so did I!

We are survivors of COVID 19, and are even more dedicated to taking care of people who do not have enough money to purchase private insurance, but whose income is too high to receive Medicaid.
The Family Unit, Inc.'s Free Medical Clinic is located at 9B Willow Drive, Sumter, South Carolina 29150....a low income community within walking of our free medical clinic.

My husband and I would be most appreciative for a financial donation from Yum! Brands to our 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization, The Family Unit, Inc., which would help us in our endeavors to provide quality medical care to a growing, ever-increasing, uninsured patient population in Sumter County, South Carolina.

Yours Sincerely,

Brenda C. Williams, MD
