Please help sir.
I work at Raytown Pizza Hut, in Missouri. I've been here for going on 3 months now. I'm not new to driving though, I was a Papa Johns driver before that, and a on-site tech repair before that. (The stress of the tech industry made me downsize my wallet for an attempt at comfort).
I followed my Papa Johns manager, Nick, to the local pizza hut, after he said that the pay was much better. And it was, at least in my area, due to the maps being different.
That said, a few of the PJ's guys followed along, and it seemed that a Pizza Hut shift manager (Neesha) didn't care for it. Both me, my former manager, and a few other drivers were coming up short from what we should have in tips, at the end of the day. After it persisted, and it was a noticeable amount ($20-40 a day, from each of us), complaints were made to the manager. At that period of time, like magic, the missing money stopped.
But what started up was a string of misbehaving. I've been assigned to do double, or TRIPLE the dough as other people, for instance. I have pictures of that. More than once, even after complaints were made. Upon arriving each day, they would have a order to a specific apartment complex, saved for me. So that I would have to take the orders to the people that don't tip, every single day. They didn't even try to mask it well. Even the GM, Kat, was in on this. I would arrive on days with Kat working, and there would be overdue orders for that area, saved for me. When I made it obvious to the GM, that not only did I notice, but its not tolerable behavior, it, again like magic, stopped happening.
So earlier this week, I was asked to take the in-store that works on make home. I still had orders, but told him I could take him as long as he could wait for the deliveries to be taken. So, he hops in, and I think everything is ok. I use my GPS, to get to the first house, go up to the door, come back, and my phone is missing. So I look for my phone, everywhere. Walk all the way from the customers house to the car again, checked the center console where I keep it. Move the seats. After this I tell him, I'm going to need him to empty his pockets. He refuses. I tell him to get back in the car where he offers, "I can tell you how to get to the next delivery"... After a few exchanges, I take him to the store instead of go to the customers house, and tell the manager what happened. They tell me to go check my car for my phone, and then LET HIM WALK AWAY.
They not only didn't call the cops, they refused.
Calling my phone? Somehow it is magically off, straight to voicemail. Mind you, it was just on, using it for GPS. He took it, turned it off, and was allowed to get away with it.
I returned to the location I dropped that pizza off with my former manager that night, no sign of it.
Again, returned with flashlight, just in case, no sign of it.
That night. Google locate tells me my phone is off.
The next day, I use google locate, and somehow my phone is back on.
Not only is it back on, magically, its back at the address where it, 'went missing'. Sitting on the curb. Easy to see, black on white. And not in a place where I could have possibly dropped it. He had realized my phone was of no worth, taken it back, and dropped it off.
Talk to my store manager about it, and her response is there is 'no proof'. Even though they broke policy by allowing a coworker to walk away with my phone.
Set that aside, today a driver routes himself around me, so that I have to go to the apartments where no one tips again, mid shift, while he was supposed to be off the clock. And then made jokes about it. He gave himself a double which didn't even make sense, two opposite directions, just to scorn me.
I ask my manager for a final time, what is she going to do about this? She basically makes a list of excuses which aren't even plausible, so she can continue getting drunk on her off time, and ignoring the issues of her store.
The only repercussions for that type of behavior, is more punishment for me. Retributive behavior all over the place.
The end result of asking my boss directly what she plans on doing about this, was to send me home with roughly 10-12 deliveries on the board, with all 3 other drivers out, and 1 due off at that time, and another with a sick wife that he needed to go home to. They punished everyone, just to punish me.
So does anyone know how to contact HR? Or someone who can do something other than the Manager over my GM? Because she seems to have him (The DM) in her pocket, and its made obvious by how he just blankly supports all of her decisions to make his job as easy as possible. Going above her head won't have the desired effect, they will just make up a reason to fire me.
Of all these things, I'm most upset that I have to go to work with two managers who are decisively retributive, and a guy on make-line which basically knows he can steal from me and no one will do anything about it.
Please help.
Shan E Miller, your loyal driver.
