Mr. William A. Galvin, also known as Bill. He was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Anixter in July 2018, following Bob Eck’s retirement. He has also held the position of President since May 2017 and was Chief Operating Officer from May 2017 until July 2018. In his capacity as President and COO, Bill was instrumental to the 2018 acquisition of three security companies—Central Security Distribution (CSD), Atlas Gentech and Inner Range—which expanded Anixter’s security offering and broadened its presence in the Asia-Pacific security market. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President of the global Network and Security Solutions segment since 2007, where he not only oversaw the sales and marketing efforts of this segment, but was also fundamental to the successful integration of the acquired CLARK Security and Tri-Ed companies in 2010 and 2014, thus enhancing Anixter’s security portfolio. Since beginning his career with Anixter in 1984, Bill has held other various positions in marketing and sales, including the Regional Vice President of Sales for the West region and Senior Vice President of the North American Enterprise Cabling Solutions business.
