G. V. Prasad is an Indian business executive, and C0-Chairman and CEO of Dr. Reddy's Laboratories.[1][2] His first exposure to the world of pharmaceuticals was in 1985 with Benzex Labs, a pharmaceutical enterprise that he co-founded. Benzex was later acquired by Dr. Reddys and Prasad returned to the construction business, only to come back to pharmaceuticals in 1990 – this time as the CEO and MD of Cheminor Drugs Ltd. In 2001, Cheminor Drugs merged with Dr.Reddy's Laboratories[4] and Prasad took over as the vice-chairman and CEO of the merged entity.[5]

The company was founded by Anji Reddy, who had previously worked in the mentor institute, Indian Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Limited, of Hyderabad, India.[1] Dr. Reddy's manufactures and markets a wide range of pharmaceuticals in India and overseas. The company has over 190 medications, 60 active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) for drug manufacture, diagnostic kits, critical care, and biotechnology products.
