Gregory J. Hayes (born 1960/61) is an American businessman, the chairman and CEO of United Technologies since September 2016.
Hayes received a bachelor's degree in economics from Purdue University.[1]
Hayes became CEO of United Technologies in November 2014, when he took over from Louis R. ChĂȘnevert as CEO, following his abrupt resignation.[3] He became chairman in September 2016.[1]
He became a member of President Trump's American Manufacturing Council[4] in January 2017, but resigned[5] from the council on August 16, 2017.
United Technologies Corporation (UTC) is an American multinational conglomerate headquartered in the United Technologies Building in Hartford, Connecticut.[3] It researches, develops, and manufactures high-technology products in numerous areas, including aircraft engines, helicopters, HVAC, fuel cells, elevators and escalators, fire and security, building systems, and industrial products, among others. UTC is also a large military contractor, producing missile systems and military helicopters, most notably the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter.[4]
