Leo P. Denault has been the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Entergy Corporation since February 1, 2013. Mr. Denault serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Entergy Texas Inc. Mr. Denault serves as an Executive Officer of Entergy New Orleans Inc. and Entergy Louisiana Holdings, Inc. He served as the Chief Financial Officer of Entergy Corporation from February 23, 2004 to January 31, 2013 and served as its Executive Vice President from February 20, 2004 to January 31, 2013.
He joined Entergy Corp. in 1999 and served as the Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategic Planning of Entergy Services, Inc., a service subsidiary of Entergy, from 2002 to 2004 and Vice President of Corporate Development of ESI from 1999 to 2002. He provided significant input into major investment and divestment decisions over the last five years including serving as lead negotiator in the creation of Entergy-Koch, LP joint venture.
He also oversaw the development of Entergy Corp.'s proprietary locational pricing and congestion management models. Mr. Denault is an officer of numerous Entergy subsidiaries, and he has served on Entergy Corporation's disclosure committee since its formation in 2002. Prior to joining Entergy Corporation, he served as Vice President of corporate development at Cinergy Corporation.
Mr. Denault played a lead role in PSI Energy's defense of a hostile takeover attempt that occurred during that its merger with Cincinnati Gas and Electric to form Cinergy. He has been Director of Entergy New Orleans Inc. since March 2, 2011. Mr. Denault has been a Director of Entergy Texas, Inc. since 2007 since 2004. He served as a Director of Entergy Mississippi, Inc., Entergy Louisiana LLC, and Entergy Louisiana Holdings, Inc. from 2004 to January 31, 2013. Mr. Denault served as a Director of System Energy Resources, Inc. since 2004 until 2013.
He served as a Director of Entergy New Orleans Inc. from February 2004 to September 22, 2005 and Entergy Arkansas Inc., from 2004 to January 31, 2013. Mr. Denault served as Director of Entergy Gulf States Louisiana, LLC. (also called as Entergy Gulf States Inc.).
Mr. Denault holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Indiana University in 1991. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Economics and Accounting in 1982 from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.
