Richard B. "Rich" Handler (born May 23, 1961) is an American businessman, currently serving as the Chairman of the Board and CEO of Jefferies Group, where he is the longest-tenured CEO on Wall Street. Handler also serves as the CEO and director of Leucadia.

Richard B. Handler has been the Chief Executive Officer of Leucadia National Corporation since March 1, 2013. Mr. Handler has been the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Jefferies LLC since 2002 and January 2001 respectively. He also serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Jefferies International Limited. He has been the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Jefferies Group LLC (alternate name, Jefferies Group Inc.) and Jefferies Company, Inc. since January 2001 and February 2002 respectively.

Mr. Handler served as the President at Jefferies Group LLC since June 2005. He served as Co-President and Co-Chief Operating Officer of Jefferies Group LLC since 2000. He had earlier served as Co-President and Co-Chief Operating Officer of Jefferies Company, Inc. since 2000.

Mr. Handler served as the Chief Executive Officer at Jefferies High Yield Holdings, LLC and Jefferies High Yield Trading LLC since January 2001. Mr. Handler served as a Managing Director of High Yield Capital Markets at Jefferies International Limited from May 1993 to February 2000, after co-founding it as an Executive Vice President in April 1990. He served as Chairman of Jefferies International Limited. He has been a Director of Leucadia National Corporation since March 1, 2013, Jefferies LLC since May 1993 and Jefferies Group LLC since May 1998.

He serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of Folger Hill Asset Management LLC. He serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Handler Family Foundation. He serves on the Board of Trustees of University of Rochester.

He also serves on the Advisory Council of the Stanford University School of Business. Mr. Handler earned an MBA from Stanford University in 1987. He also received a BA in Economics from the University of Rochester in 1983.

Leucadia National Corporation is an American holding company that, through its subsidiaries, engages in mining drilling services, telecommunications, healthcare services, manufacturing, banking and lending, real estate, and winery businesses with a market cap of about $8.0 billion as of June 15, 2011. Largest current investments include Jefferies. The company is sometimes called a "baby Berkshire Hathaway" for the wide range of its holdings.[3]
